Alexandra Bruno is a mezzo-soprano who regularly performs opera and art song. Most recently, she performed the role of Dorabella in the Ohio University Opera Theater’s 2017 production of Così fan tutte. She is especially fond of American contemporary art song and has performed new music with Microscopic Opera Company and OvreArts in Pittsburgh. In 2017, she commissioned and premiered the song cycle Hidden Love by American composer Elaine Ross.

​Alexandra maintains voice studios in three Ohio cities. She is Adjunct Professor of Voice at the University of Rio Grande in Rio Grande, Ohio, where she teaches voice to music majors and maintains a private studio serving the community at large. She is also a Master Teacher at the Athens Community Music School at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Finally, she is a member of the Noteworthy Music faculty in Columbus, Ohio. In each of these studios, Alexandra works with students of all ages and levels in a variety of styles, including classical, jazz, pop, and musical theater.

​Alexandra holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance: Pedagogy from Ohio University, where she studied voice with soprano Debra Rentz. As a GTA at Ohio University, she taught Class Voice for music majors and music therapy majors as well as private voice lessons for both majors and non-majors. Alexandra is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) where she attends conferences and keeps up with the latest in vocal pedagogy and voice science.
